Most web based applications are developed to work on any browser, which gives you the convience of not having to worry about what opperating system you are using. But web applications are "STATELESS", which means once your computer has sent a request to the server, the server forgets you were ever there. So the server needs to be reminded each time who you are, and what you want. This style of program is convenient but comes with a heafty price on performance. With many users logged on, the servers (as you can see in the image) have a lot of requests to take care of. |

The first thing you notice in this image, is the lack of colorful lines to and from the Servers. The way AmS works, is you install the program locally on your system, but the database is housed on a secure database Server. As long as you have internet connectivity the AmS program will work. Allowing you to share your data world wide, but through a desktop program that never forgets who you are or what you're doing. Each company will have thier own database setup on the servers eliminating the chance of data leakage or corruption. The program now only needs to transfer data from the database to the user station and back again, dramatically increasing the speed and efficiency of the overall system. No more screen refresh delays, or quirky browser issues, now you have a desktop program that works like an internet based program, and your entire company can access it's data from any internet connection anywhere in the world! |
