Overview A key challenge for aicraft manufacturers and operators is to insure that their assets are put to the best possible use over their life times. As newer generations of regional jet enter passenger service, future roles for types such as the BAe 146 need to be evaluated. Tronos is at the fore front of this process. We are working closely with various partners to develop derivatives of the BAe 146 that will enable its unique qualities to be applied to a wide range of alternative uses. |

Why the BAe 146? The BAe 146, together with its successor the Avro RJ, was one of the most successful commercial aircraft to have been produced in the UK. |
||||
221 BAe 146 series aircraft were produced over a ten year period between 1983 and 1993. From 1993 the BAe 146 was succeeded by the Avro RJ series. The BAe 146 is characterised by its blend of unique short field / hot & high performance and low noise footprint, with comfort levels, speed and range normally associated with larger passenger jets such as the B737 Tronos believes that the BAe 146's combination of performance and size makes it an ideal platform for further development. |
